The Business Card in the Peppol Directory
The Peppol Directory is a public central directory in which details of the Peppol network members can be viewed.
By publishing the Business Card in the Peppol Directory, business partners can find the Peppol ID used to reach a potential recipient of documents. In addition, the Peppol Directory also contains information on their receiving capacities, for example which documents the recipient can process. The more precise the company information is maintained in one’s business card, the easier the company can be found in the Peppol Directory.
The following data can be entered when creating the Business Card in the app “PEPPOL”:

“Geographical information” usually includes address details such as street, house number, post code and city. “Additional Information” can be used to make it easier to find a company and thus the corresponding Peppol ID in the Peppol Directory.
Note: It is discussed in the Peppol network, if an entry in the Peppol Directory should be mandatory. However, with a few exceptions such as Norway, there is currently no obligation to maintain and publish the Business Card. If you not only send data/documents via the Peppol network but also receive them, the entry can certainly be useful. Read more about the advantages on our SEEBURGER blog.
New Function for Maintaining and Publishing the Business Card
With the current release, a new function for maintaining the Business Card and publishing it in the Peppol Directory is available in the app “PEPPOL”.
Note: The Business Card can only be maintained if the corresponding Peppol ID is configured for both outbound and inbound communication.
If you have selected a Peppol ID that is set to “Bidirectional”, you can enter the data for the Business Card in the section “Business Card: [name]” via the button “New”.
