New mandatory field „Country Code“ available
Since January 1, 2024 we (SEEBURGR AG), as the Peppol Service Provider, are obliged to send monthly reports to Open Peppol. These reports contain aggregated data. This data can be broken down by different attributes such as the country codes of the end users (senders, receivers).
In the case of sent messages in the Peppol SBDH, the senders have been assigned the mandatory country code of (CountryCode_C1), since January 1, 2024.
In the case of the receivers, only the service provider knows their customers’ country codes, because the country code (the code for the receiving “end user’s” Peppol ID) is part of the customer data and not information that comes from the SBDH.
For reporting purposes, in the first few months of this year, we used the Peppol ID numbers to determine the country codes of the receiving Peppol IDs. For example, if a Peppol ID starts with 9930 which is the German VAT ID, then the country code logically is DE.
Additionally, in order to consistently have the correct data available in the future, we now request a country code for each Peppol ID created in the Peppol app. We have prefilled the country code data where it could be determined. Please check and add the correct code if the prefill is incorrect.
